What are the possible routes to reach the top of Pico Duarte?
There are two possible routes to reach
the summit of Pico Duarte. The best-known route is the one used by the majority of hikers: they leave from Jarabacoa, Pedregal, and Sabaneta Dam. It usually takes two or three days to reach the top of the mountain. The route includes river crossings from the peaks of the surrounding mountains. For the more adventurous, another route leads to the northwestern region of the city of San Juan de la Maguana. This is a four-day, three-night trip.
